NEWS: Veteran Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan, prepares for his upcoming Bollywood release, Gulabo Sitabo alongside Ayushmann Khurrana. But the actor also has another project in the pipeline according to a report by mid-day, Google may be adopting the legendary actor’s voice for Google Maps.
Currently Google Maps employs the voice of Australia-born, New York-based entertainer Karen Jacobsen’s voice of the navigation application for Mumbai, but a source told the publication that Bachchan is in talks with the search giant, Google. The report also claims that Bachchan’s instantly recognizable voice will be used in Hindi and English. This is not the first time Google is collaborating with celebrities to power its voice-enabled products.
“Amitabh is hugely popular and everyone recognises his baritone. However, though he has been approached by Google, nothing has been finalised yet”, the source said.
