Actor Deepika Padukone has always remained a strong advocate for the need to ensure mental wellness. She is also the founder of the mental health advocacy organisation, The Live Love Laugh Foundation, which is quite similar to Africa’s largest mental health group, The South African Depression and Anxiety Group (SADAG).
She also took the time to rattle a photojournalist for sharing a video, where the body of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s is taken from the hospital to the crematorium, on Instagram. The video was captioned, “Please note my images and videos cannot be posted on any platforms without my written consent.”
Padukone commented on the post stating,, “Right. But it is OK for you to take this video and not only post it but also probably monetise it without his or his family’s written consent?”
Fans of the actor appreciated her taking a stand. “Well said,” one person wrote in reply to her comment. “Agree with you,” wrote another.
Deepika Padukone along with her husband has battled with mental health issues like depression has stressed the need for better mental health awareness. “As a person who has had a lived experience with mental illness, I cannot stress enough about the importance of reaching out. Talk.Communicate.Express.Seek help. Remember, You are not alone. We are in this together. And most importantly, there is Hope”, she wrote on Instagram.
