Breaking her silence today, Rhea Chakraborty expressed her emotions following the charges being laid against her. Tearfully in a video released by her lawyers, she said, “The truth shall prevail”. Chakraborty has been accused of abetting the suicide of the late Sushant Singh Rajput who was found dead on June 14. Chakraborty has also been involved in a live-in relationship with the late actor. Now, Chakraborty in a video released by her lawyer Satish Maneshinde, has taken to issuing a statement following the charges bring being registered against her by KK Singh, Rajput’s father.
After the FIR was registered against her in Patna, Bihar, Rhea filed a petition with the Supreme Court to have the investigation moved to the Mumbai investigation unit. Chakraborty cited reasons that there would never be an “impartial investigation” in Bihar for the case “In Bihar, there cannot be an impartial investigation and thereby she seeks transfer of probe in the FIR registered in Bihar to Mumbai,” she stated in her petition. Rhea in her plea also admitted that she was in a relationship with Sushant and has experienced trauma following the actors’ death by suicide. “Petitioner has also received various death and rape threats and she is in deep trauma due to the loss of deceased, which is multiplied further due to the media sensitivity of the case,” it said. Chakraborty also filed a complaint at Santa Cruz police station against the rape and death threats she has received.
She said, “I have immense faith in God, and the judiciary. I believe that I will get justice. Even though a lot of horrible things are being said about me in the electronic media, I refrain from commenting on the advice of my lawyers, as the matter is sub-judice. Satyamev Jayate… the truth shall prevail.”
Rhea Chakraborty is among the 40 people who have been questioned by the Mumbai Police, who are investigating Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide circumstances. As per media reports, Rajput was suffering from depression and was allegedly bipolar and had been pushed to the edge after being sidelined over allegations of nepotism and cliques. The Bihar FIR against Chakraborty is a parallel investigation looking into the financial affairs of Rajput, which was allegedly controlled by Rhea.
