Kangana Ranaut has sparked the ire and support of Bollywood veterans in her advocacy against nepotism and drugs in the Indian film industry. Now, the iconic actor Urmila Matondkar has hit back in response to Kangana’s views over the alleged drug use by Indian actors. She also jumped to the defence of the city of Mumbai and its people following disparaging comments by Ranaut.
In her interview with Mumbai Tak, Matondkar commented that there is a “menace of drugs” within the society of India nationally however the narcotics problem begins in Himachal Pradesh.
Matondkar asked, “Does she (Kangana) know Himachal is the origin of drugs? She should start from her own state.”
“Why did this person who has been given Y-security from the taxpayers’ money didn’t give information about the drug nexus to the police?”Urmila Matondkar
In earlier reports, Kangana Ranaut lambasted the people and city of Mumbai labelling the film mecca as a ‘Pakistan Occupied Kashmir,” over her security concerns while in the city. Matondkar accused Kangana of playing the victim card and “the woman card.” She also added that she did not support BMC’s decision to demolish Ranaut’s office.
Matondkar defended the city and the people of Mumbai by saying, “No iota of doubt that Mumbai belongs to everyone. Whoever has loved the city and has given back to the city, it belongs to them As a daughter of the city, I will never tolerate any defamatory remark against it. When you make such comments you are not only insulting the city but people of the state at large.”
In other news, Kangana Ranaut questions Jaya Bachchan over her statement which slammed MP Ravi Kishan over drug abuse within the Indian film industry.
Kangana responded, “Jaya ji would you say the same thing if in my place it was your daughter Shweta beaten, drugged and molested as a teenage, would you say the same thing if Abhieshek complained about bullying and harassment constantly and found hanging one day? Show compassion for us also”, tap here for more
