Deepika Padukone Manager Implicated in Drug Probe

Karishma Prakash who is the manager of Bollywood A-lister Deepika Padukone has not been questioned by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Tuesday. Prakash is currently in Goa with Deepika Padukone on a film shoot with Siddhant Chaturvedi. While Dhruv Chitgopekar the CEO of KWAN agency has been hauled in for questioning in the Bollywood drug probe currently being investigated.

Certain chats between Deepika and Karishma were being reported where they discussed ‘maal’, hash and weed. Amid this, reports came in that Deepika’s manager Karishma is being summoned by the NCB for the probe. Pinkvilla reports that Karishma may be unable to appear before NCB as she is in Goa with Deepika for the shoot of Shakun Batra’s film. 

Padukone’s name surfaced in the drug probe in alleged Whatsapp chats where she was allegedly asking her manager to source ‘hash’ and ‘maal.’ Prior to this incident, reports came in that the NCB may call Karishma for questioning as Jaya Saha also was called in for a second time.

Pinkvilla reports that Karishma may be unable to appear before NCB as she is in Goa with Deepika for the shoot of Shakun Batra’s film.

Zee News reports that ‘D’ and ‘K’ in this conversation are allegedly of Deepika Padukone and Karishma, respectively. Koko is the name of a restaurant located in Mumbai’s Kamala Mills area.

On Monday, the Bureau stated that summons are yet to be issued to actor Sara Ali Khan as well as designer Simone Khambatta this week to record their statements in connection with the agency’s probe into Bollywood celebrities drug use scandal.

According to NCB, actor Rhea Chakraborty had named the three women during her questioning by the agency between September 6 and 9. She is currently being held in custody until 6 October.

“Rakul Preet Singh, Sara Ali Khan and Simone Khambatta will be summoned this week,” NCB Deputy Director K P S Malhotra said. Officers said they are also likely to issue summons to another actor.

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has made 19 arrests in relation to the FIR (First Incident Report) registered to “bust the drug network in Bollywood”. This FIR is separate from another registered against Rhea Chakraborty in relation to the chats that the Executive Directorate found on her cellphone where she was “discussing narcotics”.
