Drug Probe: Rakul Preet Singh Questioned by NCB

Rakul Preet Singh has become the latest Indian celebrity to be questioned by NCB officials on Friday morning. The actor made herself available to record her statement relating to the ongoing Bollywood drug probe that started with the death of Dil Bechara actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

It is believed that Preet Singh’s name emerged during the interrogation of Sushant’s girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty. The actor is who has been arrested remains behind bars in a Mumbai jail for over two weeks, along with her brother Showik Chakraborty Rakul Preet was scheduled to record her statement yesterday but her date was moved as the NCB only reached out to her on Thursday.

On Thursday, designer Simone Khambatta and Shruti Modi, former manager of Sushant Singh Rajput were questioned.

Actor Deepika Padukone, Karishma Prakash and Dharma Productions executive producer Kshitij Ravi are to be next in line for interrogation and investigation.

Padukone and her husband Ranveer Singh arrived in Mumbai late last night from Goa. Actors Shraddha Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan are to also appear before NCB officials on Saturday. The NCB, which began the inquiry after a drugs angle came to light in connection with Rajput’s alleged suicide, has now widened its investigation and asked a clutch of Bollywood celebrities to “join the probe”.

Deepika Padukone and Shraddha Kapoor names cropped up in WhatsApp chats retrieved from the phone of talent agent Jaya Saha, who is also being questioned by investigators. The chats suggest that the actors had been involved in the sourcing and consumption drugs. Deepika Padukone has been summoned tomorrow and Sara Ali Khan and Shraddha Kapoor on Saturday.
