The Bollywood drug scandal heightened on Saturday as actors, Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor, Rakul Preet Singh and Sara Ali Khan were summoned for interrogation by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).
“Rakul Preet Singh’s statement was recorded by the SIT today. It will be analysed and produced before the court,” Mutha Ashok Jain, NCB’s director-general, told reporters.
After Rakul Preet Singh named Prasad in the drug probe, NCB officials had taken the director in for questioning and was subsequently arrested following a raid at his home.

Padukone spent five hours during her appearance at the NCB office on Saturday, 26 September while Rakul Preet Singh was questioned by for four hours on Friday, 25 September.
Padukone’s name surfaced after a series of Whatsapp chats allegedly implicate her in sourcing drugs through her manager, Karishma Prakash. In the Whatsapp chat in possession by the authorities, Deepika Padukone allegedly asks for “hash” in a conversation with her manager.
India Today reports that the Padmavaat actor broke down three times during the NCB interrogation. She was asked by officials to not to play the ‘emotional card’. The actor has admitted to the WhatsApp chats that have come to light however denies consuming narcotic substances. Deepika was confronted with Karishma during the round of questioning, sources say.
Karishma Prakash, Padukone’s manager and Rajput’s former manager Shruti Modi were also questioned on Friday.
Kshitij Prasad arrested
Kshitij Prasad was arrested on Saturday, 26 September after 2 days of interrogation by NCB officials. On Friday, Anubhav Chopra who is another close associate of Prasad was interrogated. Prasad has been linked to Dharma Productions, as a former employee, however, Karan Johar has denied knowing him personally.
In a statement released on Friday night, Johar said Prasad joined Dharmatic Entertainment, a sister concern of Dharma Productions, in November 2019 as one of the executive producers on contract basis for a project, which eventually did not materialise.
