Bollywood playback artist Kumar Sanu (62), has revealed that he has tested positive for COVID-19. The artist’s management shared the news on his Facebook page to inform fans and followers of the latest development.
The announcement comes a few days ahead of his 63rd birthday where he was to travel to Los Angeles to spend time with his family. The post on Sanu’s Facebook page read, “Unfortunately Sanuda has tested Corona positive, please pray for his good health. Thank you.”
In a chat with Bombay Times, Sanu had recently revealed that he was planning to fly to the US to spend time with his wife Saloni. He had said, “I have been eagerly waiting to be with my wife Saloni, daughter Shannon and Annabel for a long time and now finally, I will be spending my birthday, October 20, with them.”
Now, his plans have inevitably changed as his wife told the publication that the singer might visit them after November 8, if he feels better by then. She also added that if he is still unwell, the family will come down to Mumbai to spend time with him.
Kumar Sanu has been one of the reigning Indian playback singers in the Indian film industry. He is best known for several hit Bollywood tracks randing like Dheere Dheere (from 1990 film Aashiqui), Meri Mehbooba (from Pardes, 1997), Kitna Haseen Chehra (from 1994 film Dilwale) and Ek Ladki Ko Dekha (from 1942: A Love Story).
