Agisilaos Demetriades Arrest Drug Probe

Agisilaos Demetriades Arrest Another Suspect In Custody

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has taken another alleged drug peddler into custody. Authorities have also recovered large amounts of narcotics in his possession during the time of the arrest, officials said on Tuesday.

According to reports, cocaine and cannabis were recovered from the possession of the alleged drug peddler in commercial quantity. It is believed that the suspect was reportedly in touch with the South African drug supplier Agisilaos Demetriades, officials said.

Demetriades is suspected of running drug supply chains exporting synthetic drugs to drug cartels operating in South East Asian and African countries, NCB sources add.

The 30-year-old South African was arrested by police at a resort in Lonavala, Mumbai a week ago. He was also found in possession of marijuana and alprazolam, both of which are banned narcotic substances in India.

Both his residence and the resort were raided after the team received a tipoff earlier this month.
