South Indian movie review – Lens and C/O Kadhal

I saw a brilliant movie called Lens on Netflix. It is a dark mystery drama, a genre I don’t really like but once I started watching I could not stop. What happens when a man who is hooked on chatting with women on the net is trapped into a situation to watch a man threaten to commit suicide. What is the reason unfolds as the movie runs.

The movie was made in 2015 so the software is a bit dated but this does not lessen the impact of the script. The movie can be seen in predominantly English with some Tamil and Malayalam but full English subtitles. The movie is written and directed by Jayaprakash Radhakrishnan who also stars in it. The other main character is Anandsamy. The movie has done very well in the International film circuit.

The movie C/O Kadhal is an anthology of four stories which seem to be to each other. The story deals with the romances of four different couples of ages ranging from eighth standard students to a couple in their forties. The movie highlights some of the taboos plaguing our society with being too preachy. You got to wait till the end to see how the stories are related. The movie is a remake of the Telugu movie C/O Kancharapalem. Although the cast is almost unknown artistes director Hemambar Jasti brings out the best in them in his debut movie. The movie is running on Amazon Prime.
