Movie watching is different these days. Choices are no longer Ster Kinekor or Avalon, its Netflix or Amazon Prime. With monthly subscriptions costing less than a jumbo box of popcorn and coke, the movie fan has the power. Cinema’s of course won’t go away, and we don’t want that ever – they’ll probably just become better experiences. We’ll wait while we stream Indian films on Amazon Prime.
So, dismantle your satellite dish and microwave about 5 packets of buttered popcorn, pour it in the dish with your burnt fingers and enjoy! Stream Indian films all weekend long. We’ve chosen a selection from different language regions (Kollywood, Bollywood, Tollywood, Sandalwood) – aaand that’s why we have the subtitle button.
Master
Starring: Vijay and Vijay Sethupati Language: Tamil
Gulabo Sitabo
Starring: Amitabh Bachchan. Language: Hindi
Review: Starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Amitabh Bachchan, Shoojit Sircar’s quirky comedy Gulabo Sitabo is the story of Mirza (Bachchan), a 78-year-old landlord who is possessive about his ‘haveli’ in Lucknow. He is often at loggerheads with his tenants, but the one who gives it back to him is Baankey (Khuranna). The constant banter between them as Mirza tries to throw Baankey out of his home makes for a fun watch. Written by Juhi Chaturvedi, and produced by Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel Kumar, the movie also stars Vijay Raaz and Brijendra Kala in pivotal roles.
