What is it about Kangana Ranaut? She is stylish and gorgeous in some pictures, mildly amused in others and in others she loos like she’s measuring up the price of your soul and chuckling at the deal she’s going to get. She’s feisty and a self-described warrior woman – although her own reputation backs that up all the way.
She looks like she’ll scold you so that you face burns like a ping-pong paddle, and we don’t rate your chances if you don’t have the exact number of sugar grains in her morning tea.
Born in Bhambla, a small town in Himachal Pradesh, Ranaut initially aspired to become a doctor at the insistence of her parents. According to Ranaut, she was “stubborn and rebellious” while growing up:
“If my father would gift my brother a plastic gun and get a doll for me, I would not accept that. I questioned the discrimination.”

Early film career
After being trained under theatre director Arvind Gaur, Ranaut made her feature film debut in the 2006 thriller Gangster. or She succeeded, winning the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. She received praise for portraying emotionally intense characters in the dramas Woh Lamhe (2006), Life in a… Metro (2007) and Fashion (2008). For the last of these, she won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress.
She was determined to build her own career and relocated to Delhi. This only at the age of sixteen and took up modelling for a brief period of time. Kangana Ranaut pictures that time:
“People in the industry treated me like I didn’t deserve to be spoken to and I was some unwanted object. I couldn’t speak English fluently and people made fun of me for that. So dealing with rejection became a part of life. … All that has taken a toll, I guess. I find it hard to deal with praise. Today, when people say that I have made it and made it on my own, I feel like locking up myself somewhere … It scares me.”

You may think it’s strange to find solace in conflict, you may think it’s not possible to fall in love with the sound of the clash of swords, for you BATTLEFIELD might just be ugly reality but for the one who is born to FIGHT there is no other place in this world where she belongs.

But looks like she will always have the last laugh.
Whatever her motivation is for her attitude, she has us intrigued – we surrender unconditionally.
