Willow Smith released six tracks of Bhakti songs together with kirtan musican Jahnavi Harrison. In the search for a deeper connection and “inner calm” the two worked together to create a spiritual, meditation and uplifting collection of Sanskrit mantas. The tracks are inspired by sacred texts of the bhakti tradition. “Willow and I met through mutual friends at an event I was leading,” Jahnavi revealed. “We connected through the beautiful music of kirtan – a musical form of meditation that uses call and response singing of mantras to open the heart and connect with the Divine. “Feeling how deeply it affected us personally, we felt inspired to spread this music further, and knew that something unique and special could come from bringing together our different sounds and musical influences. Beauty products businesswoman, Rabia Ghoor, received the Forbes Woman Africa ‘Young Achievers’ Award for 2021, while architect Sumayya Vally, was pne of those featured in the 2021 Times100 list that acknowledges leaders who are shaping the future. Rabia Ghoor is a 21-year-old entrepreneur and Sumayya Vally 30-year-old architect respectively.
