These buildings reflect the stories, traditions and resilience of diverse community groups. Also made visible are the precarious conditions that have threatened the conservation of these special places over time. And the continuous efforts of community groups to preserve their buildings and their cultural identities. The temple at Shree Ayyappaa Kshetram has been closed since March 2020 due to governmental restrictions. The press release from the temple below refers: According to Scriptural injunctions a hindu temple should be revitalised and a Kumba Abishegam performed after every 12 years that a temple is in existence. This affords an opportunity to improve and maintain the structures and surroundings as well as a wonderful time to bring a congregation of worshipers together with renewed energy.
