COVID: over 200 doctors have died in Pakistan alone 😧🇵🇰

Over 202 doctors passed away from the coronavirus since the pandemic began while 30 paramedics have also succumbed to the infection, as per a press release from the Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) on Wednesday.Meanwhile, the PMA urged the Pakistani government to provide Shuhuda package compensation to families of over 200 doctors who had passed away from the coronavirus, reported The News International. Out of these, 74 doctors hailed from Punjab while 64 belonged to Sindh. Among the doctors who passed away due to the coronavirus, 53 belonged to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa while 6 hailed from Balochistan, 3 from Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) and one doctor from Gilgit-Baltistan, reported The News International. ‘I’ve lived my life’: 85-year-old with COVID gives up hospital bed for younger patient, dies at home

An 85-year-old COVID-19 patient, who voluntarily gave up his hospital bed in Nagpur to a younger patient on Saturday saying “I have lived my life”, died at his home on Tuesday. Narayan Dabhalkar was admitted to the Indira Gandhi government hospital in Nagpur after he tested positive a few days ago.  After much effort, he got a bed. It was then that he saw a woman looking for a bed to save her 40-year-old COVID-infected husband. The hospital authorities refused to admit him because there were no empty beds. Later, Dabhalkar saw her in tears and decided to vacate his bed for her husband.  While giving up his bed, he reportedly said, “I am 85. I have lived my life. Russia sends oxygen concentrators, ventilators and 200,000 packs of medicines to India 🇷🇺 Russia has announced that it is sending over 22 tonnes of medical supplies including 20 oxygen production units, 75 ventilators, and 200,000 packs of medicines to India to deal with the COVID-19 second wave.The Russian Foreign Ministry said that two transport planes carrying medical supplies are already en route to India. An injured snake was rescued and operated by surgeons in India’s eastern Mayurbhanj district on Saturday, April 17 2021. The Russell’s Viper snake that was trapped in a fishing net for 5-6 days was spotted by children after which it was rescued and its wound was stitched. “This snake was stuck in a net and its skin was torn. We gave him stitches over here so it is doing well. It will recover,” said a Veterinarian, Manas Kumar Dalbehera. “It is doing well. It will recover.” The snake was later released in the biosphere reserve of Similipal National Park. The Russell’s viper is one of the most dangerous snakes in Asia.
